It was in the PCPPA (Pierce County Professional Photographer's Association) fall print competition. Blue ribbon (in this competition Red ribbon is 1st prize). Actually, there's a point-based system and most prints score between 70 and 80 points (out of a possible 100 -- unusual to see over 80). They are awarded for 75 points and above. This kitty one got 75 points and one other of mine (a portrait of a plot hound -- http://www.standingstonesphoto.com/Ruby%20Mae%20page.html) got 76. Unfortunately I had one with only 74 and one with 73, also. The 73 point one is one of my faves.) This was my first official competition that I've entered and we all watched/listened to the critiquing. Man, they knock everything down! With my avatar one, the main thing that bothered the judges was the dark space above her head. Sheesh! Not only does it not bother me, but I didn't even notice it! Oh well. But they judge on technical stuff.

It's pretty safe to say that if we take all of man kinds accumulated knowledge, we still don't know everything. So, I hope you understand why I don't believe you know everything. But then again, maybe you do.
