This is an urban legend with kernel of truth. The bear was big but not as big as the spreading internet legend would have you believe. The guy was actually bear hunting when he shot it and the bear did not charge him. And it hadn't killed any people previously. Whatever is up at SCL is much larger and probably belongs to some as of yet undiscovered phylum. I have heard it but never seen it. paranoid.gif
