It’s been a dozen years now since I launched this site. How the years fly by. A very belated thank you to dicey for posting this; and also to those who wrote me after seeing her post, or who commented in this thread. I hadn’t known about this forum before receiving those emails.
The original site was my first attempt at writing a website. It was a static site and I rarely added new photos to it. But I’ve learned a little more since then and have now re-written it as a more dynamic site which makes updating it much easier. It's a personal project rather than a commercial one, and that allows me to fiddle, learn, and take pleasure in working things out both creatively and technically in my own time. I’ve added some new images and removed some others. I’ve gotten up through 2011 now, but still have 7 years of images to consider for inclusion on the site. With the winter rains I hope to make some progress there.
You don’t have to look very long to see that there are a great number of exceptional images in the threads of this forum, from a wide array of people. I’ve always thought that making good images is in no small part a matter of showing up, of going, of making yourself available to the chance event of a certain light on the landscape; and people here certainly do that. We each have our own memories of special moments we’ve witnessed and hold dear. I invite you to make another visit some rainy evening and enjoy some of the moments I’ve been lucky enough to witness.
