I had my typical knee-jerk reaction to The White Stripes: they were getting a lot of radio play, and most everything I hear on the radio sucks. But then I saw them on SNL, and ... they won me over. I like a ton of their stuff, and dig the heck out of Jack White's guitar chops. --Gray

I've enjoyed most of what I've listened to from the White Stripes. But as you mentioned, overplay can ruin the best of songs. "Seven Nation Army" is a good example. "Blue Orchid" on the other hand will take a lot of listening for me to warm up to.
