Wow, Ski, that guy's a real Speedy Gonzalez. For some reason my favorite interpretation will always be the Marie-Claire Alain recordings for the Musical Heritage Society, which I discovered back in high school. Her interpretations of both the Toccata & Fugue in Dm and my very favorite of all time, the grand Passacaglia & Fugue in Cm. Some might find her a bit "plodding", and I noticed that in at least one subsequent re-recording some decades later, she picked up the tempo some. But I still prefer the slow stuff. I guess you'll have to do one more click to hear 'em, per the original poster.

This song is about protecting your children from the evil in the world. Worth your 6 minutes.

They are entirely unique as far as I know, don't know of any other band that does what they do. Plenty of groups have more than one vocalist, but they sing co-lead on every song together. Calling it a duet doesn't even really seem like an accurate description.

I love Tuvan folk music; but had not heard of that group. Good to know the younger Tuvan musicians are getting their music out. I discovered Huun-Huur-Tu back in the 90's when NPR's "All Things Considered" did a feature on them and their new album, "60 Horses in My Herd". Then a few years later I saw them in concert at the Meany. It was fabulous. Here's a take from their subsequent KEXP visit, and then one from the 60 Horses album. The singer has so much emotion in his voice I tear up nearly every time I listen to it.

Changing direction, the Haim sisters played together in a family band. Their parents taught them to play guitar, drums, and bass, how to sing, just for wholesome family fun. When I did Green Mountain, up the Suiattle, I heard them interviewed on the radio, talking about having to fire their parents from the family band, and what it's like to fill stadiums.

Wolfgang Van Halen's sophomore effort under the Mammoth WVH moniker, Mammoth II, is out and it is such a fun album! It's a vast improvement on the, already pretty impressive, first offering. Once again, Wolfgang plays every instrument on the album and does the singing. I could have picked any song from Mammoth II and not gone wrong...
