I've just finished doing some serious shopping for binocs and have to say the Pentax DCF SP's are great and a super value. I opted for the 10x43's and am really happy. My final choice was between the Leica 10x42 BN and the Pentax 10x43 DCF SP. This was mostly determined by the fact that I wear glasses and everything else in the price range sucks with glasses. I ended up with very slightly more color fringing than the BN's and an extra $650 in my pocket. Highly recommended. If you don't wear glasses check out the Nikon Venturers and Superior E's
