Perhaps this kind of thread has already been done and I am just missing it. If not, here we go. Just this year I got myself a nice little pack rod and reel and have really enjoyed hiking into lakes and getting a line in the water.
Here are a couple beauties I have caught.......Lets see yours
Not sure what this one is but it is gorgeous Taken next to my shoe to show some scale. Shoe is 15"long

Only, that was him a year ago - the coloring changes as the fish reaches maturity, and he's a little different now.

dawgTE - that first one is a brook trout, and the most colorful one I've ever seen at that!
That's a beauty of a Rainbow, too. I take it you caught those in the Cascades?

Nice! I caught one just like it last Wednesday on the Stilly near Silvana. In spite of what some people say a bright, fresh pink like that is very good table fare.
It was so nice I just waded in shorts and water shoes, looks like no more of that, this week it will be hip waders and a raincoat, good times.

I went to the grocery store last night and bought a nice fresh 6-1/2 lb Coho. Didn't take any pics of it though.
Steaked most of it, marinated it in my secret recipe then slow cooked it on the charcoal grill with lots of alder chips. I now have about 4 lbs of ridiculously yummy salmon in the fridge and still have the tail section in the freezer.

Now THAT's fishing, lol. The rain will at least, (hopefully) disperse the hoards of snaggers who are gathered at the river, and the trails. So in some way's the rain and cold are a blessing.
I am from Montana so a little cold is no biggie.

I didn't get out to fish much this year due to the fact that I spent the latter part of August and the first half of September recovering from surgery. But before I got filleted, I did take this haul with my friend Drew on the Puyallup just after opening day.

The king went about twelve pounds and the humpies tasted great smoked!

No kidding. I can't believe all the poachers out there. About 95% of the yahoos fishing along the Green River are blatantly snagging. One dimwit was walking along the trail with his limit of silvers and I asked him what he was using. "Oh, just a bare hook". Other guys are flinging rooster tails (trout lures) with treble hooks and pulling pinks in by their humps. I saw one inbred Cleatus hustling a 20 pound King out to his car before the game warden could catch him. But there are no game wardens because they're too lazy to walk down the trail and scramble down a bank or two. You'll find their fat asses over at the Lake Sixteen parking lot, writing tickets for people who forget to hang their licenses on their mirrors.
