I got the following email through an email list that I am connected with through the Kahler Glen Golf Course at Lake Wenatchee; "Dear all, so that the story of tonight's bear attack gets out correctly, I can provide the following facts. Tonight shortly after dark a man and his dog were walking up N. Shore Drive near the old Telma area when they confronted a black bear. The bear attacked and the man was seriously injured with facial wounds. The sheriff, state patrol and Fish and Wildlife responded. The man was removed to Leavenworth, then transported to Wenatchee and later air lifted to Seattle. Fish and Wildlife called in a dog and handler to track the bear and it was located and killed. It was a older (6-7 years) female bear with no cubs. I am sure that the media will provide full coverage, but to diminish rumors I wanted to pass along this information. Edit: here is the news link in the Wenatchee World paper http://www.wenatcheeworld.com/news/2010/sep/18/man-at-harborview-after-bear-attack-near-lake/

The report was on KING 5 a bit ago. Interviews with the neighbors. "The only sign of bear is when we see the garbage cans knocked down" well hello! Don't leave your damn garbage out all over the place and the bears won't become habituated to humans. Sorry to hear someone was injured. It's always sad when this happens. shakehead.gif

This topic has already been posted in trail talk, then moved by Tom to the saloon, where it now resides. wink.gif

I try not to visit Saloon. Too much flaky and controversial stuff there. It just gets me all riled up and I get sucked in like Alan Parrish into a Jumanji game.
