Am organizing a trip up Mt. Hood via Leuthold's couloir. Right now I am looking at the weekend of Feb. 13, depending on weather, route conditions, etc. Anyone looking to do this route? We all have experience, tho different levels. If you're experienced and want to try it, shoot me a message.

I was hoping to get up on Hood this winter but the Hogsback-Old Chute Route. The goal is to use Hood as a conditioner/warmup for larger later in the year. I will have to research the other route before I PM you about it.

EK, Let me know. I don't believe we've ever met, but have enjoyed reading your TRs. The route is a little west of the standard route. After reaching the summit, descent is by the normal route. Like I said, the weather and conditions will have to be good. If not that weekend, I'll be looking at future weekends with good weather windows.

Looks like the date is being pushed back to allow for better conditions. Now we're looking at weekend of Mar 13, or following weekends as weather allows.
