I opened up NWHikers, and the "partners" icon has disappeared. Is it just me, or.....?

Im not sure why it was necessary to get rid of it. I used it. Allot of people did. Hmm.

Yea I guess now you have to wade though all the trail talk. Perhaps some kind of heading standard that would make partner request stand out more.

As well as it apparently didn't work for anyone I'm surprised at the anguish created by its disappearance.

I don't think one person raising objections constitutes "not working for anyone".
With all due respect of course, it's your perogative. I'd like to look at retooling as much as the OP, but if that's not an option, then yes, a partners subforum should be there. If you want to get rid of something, I'd vote for the photography forum....but that's just me.

While I haven't used it recently it seemed to work fine so it apparently didn't work for "some" who were the apparently vocal majority.
Without digging through other threads I'm not sure what the problem was people had with it.
People will adapt. I think it would be nice to somehow make true partner requests stand out some way in the heading but maybe that's just me.

I didn't even notice it was gone.
Perhaps a liability issue?

I used it, didn't post replies directly on it, but used it to PM people...
If it is space we are short of I recommend getting rid of threads like Weatherman's Myth of so and so that have nothing to do with hiking... but that is just me

Dude - that thing is the best toilet read ever when you have a little turtle poking it's head out who just doesn't want to swim for some reason...

I can put it back. I just figured partner requests would get more visibility in trail talk, since the feedback (not just recently but all along) was that most looking for partners didn't seem to have much luck. This is the first I've heard the partners forum was that much of a boon to anyone.

I've found a partner nearly every time I have used the Partners forum (which has been frequently). I think it's a very useful part of the board.
