Little Tahoma via Fryingpan Glacier this upcoming weekend. It will be this Saturday and Sunday. PM me if interested. This is a glacier climb so we will be roping up. Z-pulley and working with prusiks experience required. Conditions right now are looking real good. -EK

Weather and avy conditions will play a major role here. Navaho is a safer peak in questionable conditions. Eldorado though is absolutely beautiful in good conditions.

For me I would go to Eldorado even if there was no views (even though when clear it has some of the best views I have ever seen), just how exciting is enough to make me want to come back. So far the weather is not looking so hot. frown.gif

I think it will end up being Navaho and Little Navaho this week. I will make up for it next week with Little Tahoma next week. This Sunday Navaho, Next weekend Little Tahoma!!! I am leading Shasta the first week in June, then Eldorado, Shuksan and Rainier in that order.

What are the conditions like on Navaho?

Take risks not to escape life, but to prevent life from escaping I may not have anyone rocking my world right now but, I don't have anyone messing it up either.

I was in the Teanaway yesterday and I hit solid snow on the ridge SE of Koppen at about 4800' and it continued all the way to the summit. I couldn't get views of Navaho since it was raining with low clouds the whole time I was up where the views are supposed to be.

Greg, What route are you planning Little T? I think the preferred route is NOT from Paradise (the route that raising2hikers used), but from the east side up Fryingpan glacier. It's supposedly shorter and more direct, according to books. Summitpost.org has good info regarding this route.

here's some recent pix of navaho i just stumbled on .. have fun guys http://www.turns-all-year.com/skiing_snowboarding/trip_reports/index.php?topic=16675.0 btw .. mtn climber .. fm what i've seen the ingraham/cowlitz route is often used (relatively speaking) .. esp in early season .. that said the white river road (which gives access to the fryingpan via summerland) typically opens about now .. with climbing the emmons route starting around memorial day weekend .. my last check on the status -- they haven't even mentioned an opening date for the road yet .. this is a bit unusual .. or maybe just an oversight since cayuse pass is already open .. btw i see there's been 6" of new snow at paradise over the last 24 hrs with more expected today
