From the Puerto Vallarta Botanical Garden. The image depicts the inside of a replica artwork entitled "Immersive Work (Mexican Chapel)" but unfortunately I neglected to record the artist's name.

Some phone pics from Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula and Pacuare River. I still can't believe how much wildlife we saw, and how many were animals I've never heard of.
Real primary (old growth) rainforest on the Osa Peninsula in southern Costa Rica, near the border with Panama.
30 years ago this property was pasture as part of a cattle ranch on the Pacuare River. River runners bought it and eventually turned in into Pacuare Lodge, but all this reforestation was done by the fruit bats and birds and wind. Amazing how the rainforest comes back. Rafting the Pacuare was an absolute blast.

My family is spending a few days at Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood. Dawn on the solstice was amazing.

Had some flooding from the king tide at work today.
The high tide flooded one of the vault toilets. Had to rake out the leaves. Luckily no poop got out, though I told the boss lady that it’s gonna have to get pumped out sooner rather than later.

I had an atmospheric sort of afternoon up in the simulated alpine zone of West Tiger 1 2 & 3 to help me ring in the
 West Tiger Atmosphere 1 (1 of 1) West Tiger Atmosphere 2 (1 of 1)
new year yesterday afternoon. It was a very dynamic cloudscape leading to much shutter delay, but I made it to my car (with just two others still in the lot) barely before needing a headlamp.
