Back when I was young, returning from the 3 fingers lookout.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Nothing like trilliums, freshly opened! From today:
Believe it or not, these photos were taken with a 400mm lens. I was out looking for waterfowl but ran into these trilliums instead. Since I only had a wide-angle lens and this 400mm telephoto, I opted for the later as the tool to use.

Twanoh Creek
Twanoh Creek
Visited Twanoh State Park again to take some more creek pictures. Trilliums were blooming profusely at the park, along with some salmonberry blossoms. Looked like bleeding hearts will be starting to bloom in the next couple of weeks at Twanoh.

Went to the Cedar Creek Grist Mill outside of Woodland, WA yesterday. There are tours of the grist mill, but only on the weekends.

Steptoe Butte State Park
Steptoe Butte State Park
On my way to Steptoe Butte I could see the top, but by the time I reached the summit the cloud level dropped to hide summit. I couldn’t see much, so I waited in my car to stay warm, since it was very cold, for about half an hour hoping for the clouds to clear. No luck.

I guess I’ll have to go back sometime and hope for fewer or no clouds. A friend who grew up in the area recommended that I go to Steptoe because of the sweeping views.
