Our first night of the Chiwaukum traverse was clear with the half Moon. It got pretty cold down to 10F, but got a few night shots before crawling into my bag.

Very nice Kenji!
Darkhelmet - is that a composite image? I can't imaging getting that much MW detail with that much light still in the horizon....????
Very nice, regardless of how it was accomplished!

Goodonya getting out to shoot that Kenji. Did you carry a tripod on the traverse? That is a great shot at Shi Shi Pat, were you there this winter? I was hoping for a clear night when I was out on the coast this winter, but it didn't come through.

One exposure I would have like to get more of the beach in the foreground , but my my widest lens was only 28mm. The sun was down, that was just the glow from the sun behind the horizon. It was pretty dark. But you could walk the beach without any flashlight, by just the light from the stars. It was an awesome experience.

It's amazing to me you were able to capture that much MW detail that soon after sunset/with that much light still in the horizon. Very cool!

^I counted to ~19 meteors?!?! I bet it's higher than that! Each one on a layer? Just fantastically fun! Thank you.
