This fall and winter, Rainrunner and me have been working on building a collection of recipes, to broaden our eating habits on the trail. So, on all day hikes we take our stoves and a new recipe. I finally had some free time this morning, and have laid out the infant stages of the website. As I have time, more of the recipes will be listed, as will more links for supplies. (And hopefully Marszits really cool pot cozy's!)
If you haven't tried Freezer Bag Cooking, it truly does free up sooo muchtime on the trail!

Btw...I am always looking for recipe ideas, and will glady take on normal camping recipes and change to freezer bag style!

Cool, thanks for the recipes! About as creative as I've gotten so far is to grill up a pound of real boneless chicken (in chunks, basted with sauce) and freeze before the trip.
By the time we hit camp, it was defrosted. Heated back up, and served mixed up with one of the veggie freeze-dried rice thingies. And some wine (in a platypus bottle, of course!)
anyway, seemed to work out quite well for an overnighter and tasted a heck of a lot better than the chicken in the pouch - which smelled & tasted like they got some tuna in there by accident last time.... (!)

Great idea. Why not post the address in the Links section as well?

I will
Yeah...those chicken pouches always make me wonder what is REALLY in there Lots of garlic covers it..hehheh!!
Though I do love the salmon, crab and shrimp pouches! The clams actually look like real clams. The Jacks Link hamburger is good if you spice it up. (Super center Walmarts.)

That looks great. I'll have to give some of them a try. It will fit right in with my kind of camp cooking. BTW, where's the picture of Ford?

Congrats on the website. I browsed it some, and some of that stuff looks real good! I'm still too lazy for any of those receipes, but it looks easy to make, and good for a normal person.
One thing: there's a caption that says, "Groggily making breakfast." Who's Groggily? Ha haaaaaa!!!!!

Good website. Please add more breakfast ideas. That meal has always been my biggest problem on long backpacking trips.

Thanks Sarbar. Always looking for something new.
Something to to consider with your oatmeal breakfast. Try using Quick Oats instead of the packets. Cheaper. May take a touch longer to cook but not much. If you want it quicker then try running the quick oats thru a blender to chop them up a touch. Not to much mind you or it ends up a paste. I add some Maple Sugar granules and a touch of brown sugar and I'm good to go. As always, try at home first.

It's pretty safe to say that if we take all of man kinds accumulated knowledge, we still don't know everything. So, I hope you understand why I don't believe you know everything. But then again, maybe you do.

Yeah, that is something I am thinking of trying-I have seen others that ran Quick oats thru a food chopper or blender and got "instant" oats...as fer glop, man, the instant packets are gloppy anyways
