I did a solo overnight in the Necklace Valley and camped near the Necklace Valley Cabin at 8 miles. Beautiful campsite, blueberries were perfect, but it rained. Lakes were all down.

Nice, thanks for the reminder of a hike I keep putting off, someday!

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

That is a tough trail! Not sure I would want to repeat the experience! Just got down from it today.

It is steep, but perhaps it would not seem so bad if starting fresh from the campsite on the river at 5 miles in, with all the interesting artifacts. I believe you gain about 600 feet from the trailhead to that point. I might try that the next time.
