Wild Fish Enthusiasts, Next Monday June 17th, Wild Fish Conservancy and Washington State Parks will host a meeting to discuss next steps for the Dosewallips Estuary Restoration Project, a project representing 15 years of successful collaboration between the two groups.
At this information session, WFC's Micah Wait will give an overview of planned changes to the river and Dosewallips State Park during the next phase of estuary restoration. He'll also provide an overview of previous work conducted in the park during prior phases of the project.
Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask questions, voice concerns, and show support for this restoration work that will repair critical habitat for a variety of wild salmon and steelhead species.
DOSEWALLIPS ESTUARY RESTORATION INFORMATION SESSION
Monday June 17th, 6:00- 8:00 pm
Brinnon Community Center, 306144 US-101, Brinnon, WA 98320
This project is WFC's longest ongoing restoration effort to date, and seeks to restore critical fish habitat severely impacted by former landuse practices. Through the removal of levees and revetments and the installation of engineered log jams, the project aims to increase channel complexity, promote floodplain connectivity, and restore riparian forest processes.
To learn more, join us next Monday at the Brinnon Community Center.
Hope to see you there!
