Mid Fork Rocks
PostSun Apr 28, 2019 10:19 pm
Climbed to the somewhat nondescript summit of Greenway Peak just south of I90. But the route up and down provided it's share of adventure. We started by climbing the usual route to Hall Point, then after a brief return to the logging road got onto the MMM trail. It ends before reaching that destination but there is some scrambling fun along the way. From MMM to Greenway Peak is mostly a road walk. We chose to descend via the north ridge directly down to Machu Picchu rock and scrambled to the top of that, which was fun in practice and in imagination. Below that we appreciated the work on the Machu Picchu and Hall Creek trails to get back to our starting point.

It was unclear which side to pass this on, but it turned out the right side has a relatively protected ramp with almost no exposure. The split rock above is called "Easter Island"

That's an interesting looking ridge route. I like this way more than the Mt Washington TH start to get to Greenway which is a surprisingly nice summit.

My friend and I did this a week ago, only had time to get to 4264 though. That ridge route is pretty fun! Thanks for the route photos.

I was going to do this today except Change Creek to Mt. Washington. Headed out there tomorrow instead. I went up Change Creek last week mistakingly instead of Zigzag. shakehead.gif 👍 Nice photos.

Take risks not to escape life, but to prevent life from escaping I may not have anyone rocking my world right now but, I don't have anyone messing it up either.

We did the loop yesterday. It was a fun day in a seldom visited along the I-90 corridor. Nice combination of trails, abandoned logging roads, short scrambles, and a bushwhack section. First time seeing two Northern Alligator Lizards. The north ridge of Greenway to Machu Picchu Rock was a steep bushwhack decent through dense trees.
