So I found a 12" x 12" towel made by this company, one of many items I find that other hikers lose and I have to say that I am amazed at the quality of this product, so much better than the el cheapo micro fiber towels. They also sell large beach towels and other products. It works perfectly to clean a flat screen TV on which you are not supposed to use harsh chemicals or abrasive cloths. I also really like how it cleans my reading glasses, many times it's difficult to remove the smudges and oil but this does a great job! A large one would probably work great for a wet dog, lol. http://olimpiafit.com/product_11-set-of-3-navy-quick-dry-microfiber-towels.html

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Interesting. Any reason to prefer it over the standard options for backpacking use? Does it pick up and hold detritus the way microfibers for windows do?

I don't have that much experience with other micro fiber towels other than the el cheapo ones or the small eyeglass cleaners. I was just amazed how well it removed the cloudy screen on my TV and removed smudges and oil residue from my reading glasses. Plus the quality of their product is obvious when you see it in real life.

The camera “lens cleaning clothes” are usually a higher quality. I’ve accumulated quite a few. I use a small one to protect my pocket-rocket stove from the other items (canister, lighter, etc.) in a 750 ml Ti pot. Keeps the cook kit quiet when hiking, and doubles as a hot pad, and a drying cloth.
