My bike ride today brought me past a church. I noticed they were using cloudberries as a ground cover. It is native to Scandinavia as well as northern states like Alaska, Maine, and Minnesota. I was able to pick enough to make a pie. A Google search showed someone had seen them on Mt Pilchuck. I am wondering if the person might have mistaken salmonberry for cloudberry. Has anyone in this forum ever seen cloudberries in Washington state? Where?

I have not.
I sent an inquiry to a personal friend who used to live in Alaska. The Wikipedia page says their native habitat range extends to 78° N
Will let you know what I find out.

I have seen them in many places around Redmond and Kirkland used as ground cover in landscaping. It is not hard to imagine that any non native plant used in landscaping can also spread occasionally to trails.
