I'm a little confused and hoping somebody has the answer. There's a sign that reads "Palouse to Cascades trailhead" with an arrow pointing to the fire department. There are signs everywhere warning not to park or you'll be towed. Google's satellite map makes it look like you're supposed to drive a short distance on the trail. It's obviously a rail trail and looks like that wouldn't be appropriate. Where are people supposed to park?

Google says it's a 250 mile long trail with numerous trailheads and access points. Where are you trying to start from?

I just realized the headline said Easton. I'm not familiar with the trail but there are maps online.

Easton this time. You know how people section hike the PCT? I'm kind of doing that (day rides only though) on this trail on a bike. smile.gif

You do drive SE past the fire station on the trail for a ways -- and then it opens up and there is a more normal parking area and even a sign board. Google maps does not provide useful driving directions. https://www.gaiagps.com/public/V86egWwBcFVZRzVX0mUTwK5O Also if you are headed west from there it is a bit confusing as well as it feels like you are riding on someone's driveway.

There was an item on Spokane public radio that money has appeared to start improvements on the eastside part of the trail. A couple of the little towns need to take advantage of it--like Lind.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Now that the bridge is in over the Columbia I'm hoping that it kick starts trail improvements across the state. I'd like to ride it end to end, but I'm holding off for a couple years for that reason.

I'm hoping to do a thru ride next year after canceling when the pandemic hit.

28 mm tires have been extremely marginal. Go fat.

I have ridden on 28 mm tires from North Bend to Cle Elum and those were OK , perhaps a bit harsh.. East of Cle Elum the gravel gets a bit deep moving towards Thorp for 28s. On a different bike, East of Ellensburg it is not too bad , until you reach the Renslow trestle. East of the Renslow trestle, we turned around in loose sandy surface when it it became no fun for my wife on her gravel bike with 48mm tires. On that ride I was on 68 mm tires , which were OK on the sandy surface.

I need some charging stations at 40 mile intervals. I've found that loaded up panniers really cut down on my mileage. Not that i'd be carrying a watermelon on that trip.

up.gif That looks real pleasant, Cyclopath. Did you do an "out and back" or have a vehicle waiting at the end? I hope to do some of the trail next year.

One vehicle, so I've been doing every mile twice. smile.gif
