I haven't, but I've been planning it for several years. smile.gif Trips (so far) cancelled for various reasons. Anyway, I found this report useful regarding off-trail travel in that vicinity.

Cross country travel in that area is very easy so there are lots of potential routes. We went Fossil->Medicine->Cairn->Sky Top->Rough->Upper Aero.

Yes it is quite easy. Nothing more than boulder hopping required at worst.

Once you’re in the high country like Fossil Lake and environs, it’s generally not difficult to navigate around-it goes w/o saying that common sense applies here. Wonder how you’re planning on accessing-all roads from the MT side are closed, East Rosebud for access to Fossil is closed still. The Beartooth Highway has re-opened so access from the Cooke City looks good from just a cursory glance.

I'm planning on entering and exiting through Crazy Creek trail head and then doing a big loop through the entire area. Should take about a week

Has anyone been up around Snowbank lake and gone up and over to Bergschrund lake? Is it doable around this time of year?

Hiking to and around snowbank lake isn't an issue. I've been there in October that whole area is beautiful. Dropping down to bergschrund lake from snowbank is not trivial though. Very loose and steep narrow gullies you'd have to descend, and probably some class 3-4 rock.
