I have attempted that same route with a similar outcome. But we were able to do it in a torrential downpour for two days. And I fell into a bees nest and got stung 12 times. On my birthday. But that was made better because when I ended my wild thrash through the wet brush trying to escape the bees, I looked down and at my feet was a nice big balloon. "Happy Birthday!" it said.
