In warmer temps I sometimes do variations on a loop hike in the Laguna Mtns. to keep things interesting when the choices are so limited for pleasant weather hiking. This time I started from the Desert View Picnic Area on the east side of S-1, enjoying views off the escarpment before dipping in & out of shade the rest of the trip. I polished off about 9 mi.
