I hiked up Palisades Mt in Rainier Park. Neighboring Marcus Peak looked easily doable but not too inspiring so I made a clockwise loop instead down to Upper Palisades Lake and back out. I was pleasantly surprised that the descent down to the lake went relatively easily through cliff bands (think I was a bit lucky too). Perfect day for a bit of rambling against the backdrop of the Big R.
