Seattle, Tacoma, and the rest of the urban Puget Sound has so many green spaces that are ridiculously underutilized. Instead of hiking and biking trails, they are full of invasive species and massive piles of trash. I lived in Beacon Hill when this project was started and followed the conflict with the NIMBY home owners who fought hard to keep the forest full of trash and invasive species. Apparently, that's what people want. If we made more of an effort to clean up these small little green spaces, and build official, maintained trails in these green spaces, maybe we wouldn't have to drive so far to get our hiking or biking fix.
