starts around mile 4 off of hwy 20. looks like a localized wind storm littered the road with 300+ trees. max diameter looked like 30", but the majority were 20" or less.

Best would be if they could be hauled for lumber.

Firewood cutters will make short work of it.

Thanks. I really appreciate the conditions update. I've been intending to head that way this year but haven't made it. Think I'll wait til those beavers show up.

I am an inspiring begining hiker. We are working on clearing the road as well, I haven't seen the other side of all the trees yet, but we actually live here on bacon creek

In the past week the road log-out has been completed to the road fork where the left fork dips down to the river bridge, the old mainline goes straight ahead toward Jumbo Creek and the right fork ascends to old clear-cuts. There is a section where young alder are encroaching on the road, and there is the alluvial rock/gravel flow that covers the road for a short stretch (which predates the big blow-down), but the logs are gone, and road is in good shape.
This was a lot of work, and when you drive by, that will be evident. Many thanks to those who performed it.
