Went up Guye Peak this morning and came back to this scene in the Snow Lake parking lot
The middle row of cars was completely blocked in by those who pulled in behind them. No possible way for them to escape. Plenty of room elsewhere in the huge lot. What is wrong with people?? Unless they all knew each other and were in one huge group or something. I was 2 cars away from being trapped as well.

LOL, I've seen this many times in the main parking lot at Summit Central in the winter. I think some people are just completely oblivious to their surroundings, then after one person does it it's like open season...

Ya, I see that frequently at ski area parking lots in the winter here. Apparently, if there isn't a person there telling you where to park, people can't figure it out.

On a busy Friday at Mission I saw several people start a third row triple parking. I informed them that they were blocking other people in. I was polite, they ignored me so I called them assholes and told them the parking lot staff will have them towed.

Sure glad that I'm not a hwy 2 or I-90 hiker.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

As someone who occasionally helps park people at a ski resort, even with us helping, many of them still can't figure it out.

And the meek shall inherit the Earth...um...if that's ok with you.

This is the main strategy I've been promoting!!!! The main strategy is: Big Vehicles. All Solo. Everyone drive alone in a Big Vehicle. Fill up the lot so the hike is FULL. NO MORE PEOPLE IN MY WAY!!! Once the parking is FULL they will be turned away!

Seems like a few tires could use a good deflating.

During the past few years (after repeatedly seeing and hearing about these clueless parking idiots) I have begun what I refer to as "Defensive Parking". I always try to park with an exit strategy in mind, avoiding rows like this and other potential traps. And on occasion I've just turned around and left. Of course, the best strategy is to avoid these places altogether but it's hard to stay away from places that I love.

Interesting. I have never tried to be a jerk like this. Maybe I need to try to be oblivious. There is too much thoughtwork in common sense for parking for others. I am tired of the thoughtwork I put in to park.

Art is an adventure.
