Going on two full days of 300+ here in Newcastle. I've had a constant headache and my contacts are itchy. This is the worst air I've ever experienced in my life. Worse even than when it was yellow/orange in 2020 perhaps.

Me either. There are spots on the western OP that look good and if I wasn't working, I'd be there.
You don't have to go that far. Very clear, clean air on Mt. Ellinor yesterday. Even the summit of Green mountain looked good (as you can see in the photo). Capital Forest looked very good.
Rainier cams look clear up there today.
Ha! I went to Ellinor today and the air was very good. It looked that this morning smog went to maybe 3500-4000', but in the afternoon, although hazy I think that was a low level fog that came in along Lake Cushman and I don't think the low haze had much smoke in it. It was a real pleasure to exercise in air that felt good.

The air quality advisory has been extended to Monday night in my area (NW OR, SW WA). However. the AQI here in Troutdale is down to 39. Maybe I dare open a window! Not for long, though; winds are expected to decrease towards morning so may allow for more smoke accumulation.

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.--E.Abbey

Good weather for it. We may burn the forest litter we raked this summer at Lake Wenatchee next week if restrictions allow. In a month people will have forgotten about the smoke and will be complaining about the rain and gray skies on the west side.

Gotta love it. The Seattle Times has had day after day of smoke reports. Seattle being smoked out, etc. Today's paper has articles on.......fireplaces. Woodburning stoves, fireplaces, just what you need.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

It has been so miserable here and I am so thankful to see the AQI in the 20s. I hope it rains again today because I am going to go for the most glorious run in it.

I can't speak for everyone, but many of us have been very affected by the smoke the past few years--like, on existential crisis levels-- and are definitely not forgetting about it.

I live in Wenatchee, smoke is part of life here. Most of the time there is no smoke. I would imagine that there is even less smoke on the west side.

People are still complaining about how bad the smoke was years ago. This is a profound loss of quality of life for the PNW, nobody is happy about it.

You don't have to imagine, the internet can just give you the answer. up.gif
