Woke up to a light rain here in Verlot about 9:30.....hurried outside to roll up car windows. My first thought when looking at the sky was "Smokey Mountain Rain".....pretty good old song.

It is hazy and very windy here.
What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Hah! The smoke is gone here. Just came back from Twisp where it wasn't as good, but it wasn't bad either. People who live there are horking a bit.

I've got steady rain here and a wall reconstruction job that isn't done yet. Forecast looks wet except for maybe Sunday.

We've had light rain since about 9am here in South Snohomish. Only .05 according to my closest Weather Underground station and not enough to wet the deck underneath the trees. It has cleared the air.
But I did notice Snow at Paradise!

All the hiking trails up Saddle Rock in Wenatchee have been closed for the past two months for mine tailings remediation work. On my morning hike today I saw that the barricades were down so I went on up to the top and got a glimpse of Mission ridge. Snow!
