I took this picture last summer hiking Section J, standing on the ridge just past Alaska lake:
Can anyone identify this mountain? I've seen it many times, but am not sure if it's Alaska Mountain, Chikamin Peak or Alta Mountain, all in this general area. Most of the images I've found are from different angles, so a bit uncertain.

I think it's Thom(p)son, center here:

How would Horatio Alger have handled this situation?

Thanks! The images seem to match perfectly. I found a picture online labeled as being for Alaska mountain that also seemed like a perfect fit looking at the ridge line, but I suspect it was mislabeled. These images here are much more convincing.

FWIW that's a fun peak to climb. You approach the summit block from the other side and only one tricky class 3/4 move.

Thanks, I'm a little stumped as to the shadow to the left of Thomson's. Kind of resembles Kaleetan or Lundin, but those don't seem to line up to the west. Garfield seems too far in the other direction. The other peaks in between seem too broad. I suppose it could be Price. Any guesses? Edit: Actually I missed the obvious. Most likely Huckleberry's shadow. doh.gif

I think the high summer sunset made the summit block pointier.
