This may be old news to many of you but I just learned that CA glue (super glue) can by used to build a molded patch on just about anything. And cotton, string, thin cardboard, etc. can be used to reinforce and shape this combination to patch or mold just about any shape you can think of. Dab on some glue, drop some baking soda on it, then blow away the excess. Repeat in layers to make the repair as thick as you want. Join shafts by making a cardboard transition, coat with glue/baking soda, wrap with cotton string then coat with glue/baking soda. I started fixing every small broken part we have. I put this in gear because the first thing I thought of was all the hiking and camping stuff I threw out because some little part of it broke and I failed trying to glue it back together.
