Actually it was at the west end of Table Mtn above the saddle just before the ridge, I did go bit further looking for camp site but decide to go back for better views. This was my last chance for a simple overnight out of the upper lot since the ski area was going to open in a few days. There was a good amount of snow though ski quality was becoming marginal. The artist point has about 6 feet of as the outhouse was buried up to the roof line. Herman Saddle approach still looked a bit bony.
The evening was very pleasant, calm and not cold. Of course, no one around.
The sky is not very dark in this part of the cascades, but city lights add some accent.
Without a heavy pack it was so much easier to travel and to ski. My goal was to reach the far end of the basin near Coleman Pinnacle. The snow was mostly good with some wind scoured surfaces mixed in, randomly! I basically took a beeline ignoring slopes with nice snow.
Reached a saddle a bit later than ideal, leaving just enough time to get back to the car before dark.
Felt out-of-shape for a ski-camping trip, still great to have a night out in Nov.
