I'd like someone to have a DCF Seek Outside Eolus. I quite enjoy this shelter but am working on giving away my worldly possessions.
Pros: 14 oz. On the larger side for 2-person hexagons. Zipperless entry (pro in sandy environments, anyway). Has performed well in 65mph wind.
Cons: Used. Shelter only - No poles, no stakes, no inner tent. I pitched on trekking poles. I feel like keeping my stakes. You can buy dedicated carbon poles, and an inner nest here, as well as check out the Nylon version. You can't get your hands on the DCF but for quarterly drops.
This is an exclusive item!
If you haven't given that away yet I'd absolutely love it and would use the heck out of it in the summer. I've got a couple decent Pasayten loops planned next summer and will promise to write up a couple Trip Reports from them.
Very impressive generosity!!
John, sorry I'm going to give this to the first person who sent me a pm. I will keep you in mind should I give away anything else, though I am running out of valuable possessions. I have one of the first year MSR reactor stoves I'd give away, but not sure if anyone is into that. Among my other gear is 30-year-old ice tools, thermarest pads with several holes, an REI down bag I tried to give away last year but nobody wanted.
Stefan, thanks for your concern. I won't be quitting the wilderness anytime. There are still a few first ascents out there that no one else in this era is going to take care of. If I truly give away all my mierde, I guess I'll be doing 'em in the nude.
