Looking for a partner to explore the Tshletshy Creek creek drainage from the saddle down to the confluence with the Queets in September 2022.

Boy I wish I could commit to that! Sounds like a fun adventure (who can resist starting off in a place called Paradise Valley?). I hope you find some partners.

Thirty-five years ago getting to the mouth of the canyon from bottom wasn’t too bad. And from the ridge down to the creek, the to the top of the canyon wasn’t bad*. Where it seemed the shelter must have been seemed a nice tent spot. Beautiful Doug fir. Rapidly after start of canyon the side hill got steeper and the downed timber heavier. This ain’t no dinky Pasayten downfall. These are monstrous. If you’ve got calks, this is the trail to wear ‘em. Budget time accordingly.
Never having made it through, I wonder if instead staying on the the ENE side of the very top of Tshletshy Ridge and following it out to the Queets would be a more reasonable go.
*I’ve been down there a couple times when the old trail was still at least visible. The trail went back and forth across a long section of the creek where most of the summer it runs well underneath the gravel. Above its perennial. I’ve never had to pass this section when it’s flowing. My memory is that the creeks bed is steep and wide, and would be no fun crossing if it came up.
I personally think the old trail till about where the shelter clearing was would have made a great dead end way trail, to quiet in the halls of the Doug fir.
Paradise Valley describes area upstream of the of trail crossing.

nobody said "it can't be done."
a whole lot of people said "this is an incredibly difficult route plan extra time."
please post lots of photos of your journey.

It'd be great to hear some details. Will you post a TR on WTA?
