Second landslide restricts access to more Mount St. Helens destinations
Quote:
A second landslide is blocking access to the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument from the southwest. The U.S. Forest Service announced Thursday that the south side of Forest Road 25, north of the Swift Reservoir, will likely remain closed throughout the summer due to the slide. The road is blocked after Forest Road 25 and 93 meet, close to where 25 crosses Muddy River, near Cougar. People use Forest Road 25 to reach Forest Road 99 in the north, to then reach popular destinations like Windy Ridge. The Forest Service reports people can still get to Windy Ridge by taking Forest Road 99 from Randle once snow melts in July. Another debris slide, that occurred May 14, is blocking access to popular sites like Coldwater Lake and Johnston Ridge Observatory off Spirit Lake Memorial Highway. The Forest Service has opened Coldwater Science and Learning Center as an alternative to Johnston Ridge Observatory痴 theater and exhibits. Coldwater Science and Learning Center is located before the road closure of the May 14 landslide, 10 miles west of the observatory, and includes a shop and bookstore. The center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week through October. The center痴 gates will be locked at 4 p.m. due to previously scheduled overnight trips, the Forest Service reports.

Over memorial day weekend FS 25 was closed where it meets with FS 99 due to snow when coming from Randle. Annoyingly there's a sign at the beginning of FS 25 that warns that FS 99 is closed, but doesn't mention FS 25 is also closed at the same junction.

Maybe good for Downtown Randle. Hope the north 25 has had some reconstruction since I last drove it. Otherwise, it might be good for Rod's Tires.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human末animals and aliens are great possibilities

Looks like the cars will be escaping in a few weeks. Hah! Dump a couple of pipes in and ramp over the slide. Much too simple.

It's right behind the gas station.

And the meek shall inherit the Earth...um...if that's ok with you.

In plain sight. There's the grocery store, Big Bottom, Post Office, Library, Mini Mart core. Then a hardware store in the west suburb, and a restaurant/motel, Forest Service, Dentist, mini mart in the east suburb.
