As you all know this has not been the best winter for Bc skiiing.
So when the snowflakes aligned. We made the best of it.
Santiam is way west of Bend. Just across the hwy from the Hoodoo ski area.
We left the trailhead and headed north.
Down in the trees the snow was soft and easy going.
But as we climbed higher the constant 15mph winds blowing out of the NW; created a wind crust that
made it a bit hard for the skins to hold on to.
After about 2.5 hours we made it to a ridge top and took
in the views.
The wind crust wasn't too fun to ski.
But once we got away from it: The skiing was grand
Tuath was just happy to be there.
She always is .
