Last time I was here it was warm and dry. But on this: the last day of Feb. it was waist deep in powder! My husky did a great job of trail breaking for the first hour.
But as the snow got deeper. She would follow behind the lead for about 40 meters then jump ahead for a bit.
There were 5 of us breaking trail. But it still took us 3 hours to go 2.5 miles eek.gif
Eventually we made it to the shelter.
After a bit of rest and hot chocolate. We headed back. Taking us only 55 minutes to get back to the TH. agree.gif

Looks like a great day. I love that area, hard to go wrong with any hike. My dog breaks trail too but never wants to walk in a straight line smile.gif

Tuath doesn't always go straight, either. But this time she did...most of the time. Ps I meant to post this in Trip reports..Opps.
