i'm just dreaming of trails again my favorite overnighter probably the grand canyon on the hermit trail loop, across the tonto, down to phantom ranch for some r&r, back up to the rim for some ice cream. lucky enough to do that one three times, once with my parents, once with my girlfriend now wife, once with my then 9 year old son. spider gap back around glacier peak into buck creek pass number one in washington, with the pasayten out to cathedral lakes a close second. in oregon, the southern loop of Eagle Cap wilderness, and that was probably the wildest trip i've done. no people for days 3&4 out of 5. someday i'll get to the Enchantments but judging by the lottery success rate it might have to be as a day hike which means I better get on that sooner rather than later! how about you? where do you dream of as the weather starts to change?

I'd really like to check out Hinman this summer. And also execute the Glacier Peak circumnavigation I had to cancel last year. I also dream of the Berdeen/Bacon area but doubt I'll ever have a friend crazy enough to do it with me. The Lena/Putvin traverse is also on my radar. More in the Sawtooths and Chiwaukum. Some more adventurous in the North Cascades National Park, which is a place I've barely visited for some reason. Tons of other stuff.....

that lena putvin looks gorgeous but given the bad tread of putvin maybe better to do an out and back up to St Peters Gate? Avoids shuttle, too.
