I'm looking forward to getting some. I'd want at least a light sole.
Any favorites out there?
Getting into my frozen boots at 3:00 in the morning is just no fun.
Thanks, B
I have OG sierra designs booties, still going strong and water resistant. They have a nice sole to them but still flexible enough to wear in a bag if needed. I think they still make them, not sure if they're as robust now. Maybe that's a good thing for some.
The Sierra Designs are a good budget option. The Feathered Friends booties cost at least twice as much, but are built with an inner bootie and removable shell, which is awesome. You can slip off the shell and keep the inner bootie on in your sleeping bag. Also the Feathered Friends booties also pack down super small, and have an easily replaceable foam midsole.
Feathered Friends name the best down booties. There are two things making them "best:"
1 They have removable out soles so you can walk around camp with warm feet but sleep in down socks.
2 Far more down than other booties, making them nice and toasty which is the entire point.
The one thing they're worst in is price, but when you're shivering at 3 am price isn't so important.
