After packing up camp @ Pinyon Flat CG, Mary & I headed to the obscure TH for Butterfly Pk., situated @ the southern end of the San Jacinto Mtns. There is street parking along Table Mtn. Rd. @ the junction w/Pathfinder Rd., and the trail takes off from the end of Pathfinder Rd. b/t ranches. I'd only been here once before (well...technically twice), in 2014, but remember it as a pretty cool hike that sees few ppl. Plus, it's got weird random stuff along the way like old mining equipment, a giant boulder, a mysterious hole in the ground, and a very detailed sign about bats.
We temporarily got off track on the way up, found the route once again, and after a grueling climb on a sunny slope we made it to the ridge & ultimately to the top.
As I remember, the hike down was uneventful & we stayed on track better.
On the way up:

Post-hike margs:
These look like waters, but I swear they were margs!
