Memorial weekend, and the weather was good. It was a go without a doubt. First Day * Took the Lady Express to Stehekin. * Hopped on the shuttle to High Bridge. 15 min stop at the bakery. * Leisurely hiked 8 mi to Swamp Creek Camp. Camp was clear of snow. Second Day * Started at 4:45am. * Took 10 hrs to summit (C-). Underachieved. * Took 5 hrs to reach camp after summit (B). Job well done. * Spent only 10-15 min on summit - Not enough. Third Day * Left Swamp Creek camp 7:30am. Hopped on shuttle bus at High Bridge noonish. Hopped on Lady of the Lake at 2pm.

The whole thing was straight forward. Water was everywhere including the lower part of the glacier. We walked over a narrow crevasse. It might get bigger, but I don't think it will be a problem. The views were really good. It was nice to meet Colin's party. And we also shared the camp site with Ian Lauder's party. They climbed Sinister. We told him how much we owed him, but he did not even ask for a cookie. Note: Colin's party did not remember if they crossed the creek at the upper part. But we found their foot prints on the other side of the creek. They said on the way back they stayed right from the basin and only crossed the big log at the lower part. We went down the same way, and crossed those little logs at the upper part. Two logs at the lower part are in good condition and could last decades.
