Got out to Galena yesterday to do some exploring. Never really walked the area in the flats near the river. I came across this cabin that I have never seen. No doors, no windows and no signage. Anyone know the history of this cabin?

Isn't that posted private property? It seems at one time it was.

Here is a trail report from 20 years ago regarding a cabin on the trail to Mineral City. https://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=706 I think it's maybe the cabin you posted. Looks like the same cabin from what I remember Sorry I don't have any pics But I do remember the cabin was in poor shape and the owners Tim and Judy said that the cabin has been broken into numerous times Also there is no input available from my hiking partners on this hike. Unfortunately they don't post anymore and IMO have left NWHikers. Wish I had more to share. And thanks for posting, it brought back some great memories.
No. This was near the skykomish. I've passed by that cabin before. This cabin is not on the mineral city trail. Not on any trail.

Maybe. This cabin is near the skykomish in the flat area near the turn off to mineral city. Has an old mossy flatbread truck parked near it.

Regardless of whether or not it's private property, I wouldn't be poking around there, given the skeevy characters that might not want me and my dog hanging around. eek.gif
