This is the first iteration of the ZPacks Splash bivy, where the bug netting velcro'd to the head end and attached to loops outside the bivy. I liked the bivy but found this netting arrangement to be a slight PITA. ZPacks has since changed the design addressing this problem. Still, this bivy got some use and is certainly still a viable product. Once condensation was noted (top material was damp) when camping under the stars on Mt. St. Helens Plains of Abraham last year, where no tarp or cover was in place and the temperature difference between my daughter's enclosure and the outside air was conducive to condensation. Used on the Wonderland twice, Timberline Trail, and Loowit Trail. A chance to pick up a 6 oz (non waterproof) bivy for less than half the price of a new one ($224). $100, includes shipping Ideal use for this breathable bivy: under a tarp
