I love it when Mike starts posting all the fox pics.

This year I have been visiting 3 dens. All are on or near the prairie at American Camp. One is easy to see along the beach access road and has a constant bevy of lookers. I counted ten kits. Another den has 5 black kits with white tips. The other is a mixed bunch.

Bald Eagle right next to road on that way to the upper Dungeness drainage. It was feasting on a roadkill raccoon.

I like the composition and, of course, the colors of this second image.

Thanks gb. The past couple of years I've been really into finding and showing off autumn-like colors during spring, since nobody seems to talk about them much.

^ Cute!
This Father's Day, the family was out of town, so I decided it was high time to make the 1.5hr trip to Buttermilk Falls, reputedly the tallest waterfall in western Pennsylvania (45ft). This waterfall can dry up to a trickle, but after a week of thunderstorms I was hoping that it would have a good flow of water. In order to get the nicest view I had to drop down into the gorge, downstream of the falls. This was a lush green carpet of nettles, so thick that I gave up trying to work my way up the banks of the stream, and just splashed up in the stream itself.
