After being on this site since last spring I am impressed by the politeness of the members. I enjoy the trip reports and the pictures. I know most of you are from the Seattle area. I spent my childhood around lake Samamish. I have been on other sites and they are very cocky and critical. This just shows what I always knew, Puget Sound dwellers have a lot of class.

Nope, can't really say that I do...
Thanks for the compliment TJD...I think it's a pretty friendly, helpful, and welcoming community as well, especially when we focus on hiking and avoid the political claptrap.

C'mon now, I think the "political claptrap" is fun.
In all seriousness, this is a great bunch of people. There are all sorts of hiking boards out there, but this one has a superior mix of awesome people and knowledge. In my never humble opinion.

Agree on both counts...
The thing with the Devil's Club was that it never really stayed *in* the Devil's Club. The bickering / sniping bled out and soured a lot of other discussions elsewhere. The separation of church (the great outdoors) and state (politicos) has been a good thing for both groups.
Can't say enough good things about the moderation over there, either...you guys are doing a good job of keeping it civil, even if it gets a little heated sometimes.

Thanks for the compliment. It really is appreciated.
I know exactly what you mean about separating the DC. There's something about going to a different site that forces a mental shift.
