Hot weather, blue skies, everyone one else went home by 4 pm. What more can one ask for?
Rainrunner, Marzsit, Ford and me went over to Ancient Lakes via the lower route for a nice one nighter in Eastern WA, this weekend.
We camped on the spine between the two bigger lakes with a full on view of the waterfall.
Fell asleep to an owl and a pack of coyotes howling. Woke up to the coyotes and the owl going home.

The photo posted is of the third lake (the one with the waterfall), from the far side looking towards our camp.

Thanks for the pics. That's an excellent scenic area. I noticed one pic you single out the "creepy fisherman" You didn't pick a good weekend to go there with all those lakes opening March 1. I was just up the road geocaching on Sunday and never have driven in the lower way, so that was new for me. I did a geocache about 1 mile N of where you parked that overlooks Cresent Bar. There's a 800 foot cliff down to the river with an incredible view. I drove down the road past the buffalos to the parking area. The horse trailer you parked by was getting loaded when I was there, so I wonder where they went? It sure was a fantastic warm 4 days that I spent over that way.

the creepy fisherman got that label due to them catcalling and whistling at Rainy. Actually there wasn't as many fishermen as I thought there would be! (I knew the season had opened)
We met the horse riders in the afternoon, as they took a long break on the ridge. Nice group!
