Could be the Pale Snaketail which is a common dragonfly in western Canada. It should have some green in the thorax but hard to appreciate with the photo. https://www.inaturalist.org/guide_taxa/471017
This bug was thinner with different wings than a dragonfly. I was thinking wasp of some type but I wave never seen one so long and thin (and the tail definitely does not look like a stinger).
It's hard to tell which parts are insect and which are lines on the map.
My guess is an ichneumon wasp. They have very long ovipositors but no stingers.
