Assuming clear skies, I'm wondering if seeing it from the Seattle Metro area would be possible. A clear, high line of sight to the NE would be necessary, too. Any ideas?

Here's an updated version. Opened the RAW file and added brightness. That's looking down the American River Canyon from Chinook Pass (near the hiker bridge, below Naches Peak). I spent the day hiking the PCT, rested in the car for a bit, then pointed the camera NE hoping to get the comet. I didn't wait until 4 am, but the camera is more sensitive than the eye and it was worth trying.

Green comet Nishimura survives its superheated slingshot around the sun. Will we get another chance to see it? A recently discovered green comet, named Nishimura, has survived its close encounter with the sun and begun its journey back into the outer reaches of the solar system. Once gone, it won't return for around 430 years. But it could be visible over the next few weeks, depending on where you live. Australia, basically. Here's the photo they used:

This is interesting, because as Anne pointed out, the comet should be within 8 degrees of the horizon. I'm guessing a telephone lens increases the appearance of separation?
