Did the N and E section of the Cascade Loop again, good for reconning trailheads. I read in a guidebook where the Cascade Pass TH was an awesome sight in itself, so why I had a van (9 visitors) I ventured back on The Cascade River Rd and WOW !, very nicely done for a driveby, The visitors liked it, though the road was exceedingly long for them. Another portal explored embarassedlaugh.gif hmmm.gif hockeygrin.gif. I have to get up there. 90 degrees at 9:30pm in W when we got back.

Yeah the payoff for that long drive is worth it- for some folks. Don't know if I'd subject vistors to it though. If you could get them up past Cascade Pass then it would be worth the drive & effort. A good closer drive is the Index-Galena Rd. off Hwy 2 to Troublesome Creek campground and nature loop trail. That is a sweet drive and a fairly easy hike for most people to stretch the legs at the end. Then take them up the Blanca Lake trail and tell them Virgin Lk. is Blanca and turn them around and hike back down. If they are pain in the rear relatives you'll never see or hear from them again. lol.gif

Mother in laws jab.gif , damn they found us 2500 miles away, I knew we should have moved into a bus in the wilderness ! I have the feeling they won't be coming back soon. up.gif
